Customer Reviews

DRY SINKS. HAPPY HOMEOWNERS.

Kitchen faucet had a drip for over a year. The tech swapped the cartridge and the shutoff valve underneath, and it's been rock solid ever since.

Monica R.

Highland, CA

Old widespread lav faucet finally gave up. They pulled it, installed the new Delta set we bought, and even swapped the corroded angle stops. Great work.

Alan T.

Called about a leaky outdoor hose bib. Fixed it in 20 minutes, and while he was here he tightened up the loose handle on the guest bath. Genuine guys.

WHY FAUCETS FAIL FAST IN HIGHLAND HOMES

If you own a home in Highland, you've probably noticed your faucets don't seem to last like they used to. It's not your imagination and it's not always cheap fixtures. The bigger culprit is the water. East Valley Water District pulls from local groundwater that runs somewhere around 15 to 17 grains of hardness per gallon. That's the U.S. Geological Survey definition of "very hard." Those minerals hitch a ride through every faucet in your house, and they don't leave.

Here's what actually happens inside the faucet. Every time you turn the handle, water passes through a small plastic or ceramic cartridge with rubber seals. hard water leaves a coating of calcium on those seals. Over months, that coating turns to grit. The grit chews the seals, and then you've got a drip. Same story on the aerator screen at the tip of the spout, which is why your kitchen faucet slowly loses pressure over a couple years. We pull them out clogged white with mineral almost every visit.

Faucet repair in Highland is usually a lot cheaper than folks expect. A cartridge swap on a name-brand kitchen faucet, Moen or Delta or Kohler, is often less than an hour of labor and a small part. A full aerator and sprayer cleaning is even quicker. The times it makes more sense to replace the whole faucet are when the finish is corroded through, when it's a no-name brand with no parts available, or when a small leak has already ruined the base of the fixture.

Information

FAQ.

Common questions on faucet repair in Highland. Don't see yours? Give us a call.

01

Is it cheaper to repair a faucet or replace it?

Depends on the faucet. A 5-year-old Moen or Delta with a bad cartridge is almost always worth repairing. A no-name big-box faucet with corroded internals is usually cheaper to replace than to source parts for.

02

Why is my kitchen faucet so slow all of a sudden?

Nine times out of ten in Highland it's mineral buildup in the aerator or the pull-down sprayer head. We soak or swap it, and full flow is back. If it's slow on the hot side only, it could be sediment from the water heater and that's a separate conversation.

03

The handle is loose and hard to turn. What's going on?

Usually a worn cartridge or a stripped set screw. Both are quick fixes. If the whole valve body is scored, we replace the guts and re-use the trim so it looks the same.

04

Can you install a faucet I bought online?

Yes. We install any brand you supply. We'll check it out of the box before we start so you're not stuck with a defective unit and no receipt.

05

The shutoff valves under the sink are frozen. Do those get replaced too?

Absolutely, and we usually recommend it. Angle stops that haven't been touched in 15 years break the moment you need them in an emergency. Swapping them during a faucet job is quick, cheap insurance.

06

How long does a faucet repair take?

Most single-hole kitchen or bath faucet repairs run 30 to 60 minutes. A full faucet replacement with new shutoffs and supply lines is usually done inside 90 minutes.
