Why Choose Us
WE FIX IT WITHOUT TRASHING THE BATHROOM
Most shower repairs don't need a demo crew. We start with the smallest fix and only open a wall if the diagnosis says we have to.
Valve & cartridge specialists
Moen, Delta, Kohler, Grohe, Pfister. We stock the common cartridges on the truck so a lot of drips get fixed the first visit.
Access without wrecking the tile
Most valve swaps happen through the existing plate. When we do need to open the wall, we cut for the drywaller, not against them.
Pan & drain leak repair
Slow leak into the ceiling below? We pinpoint whether it's the pan, the drain, or the diverter before anything gets torn out.
Pressure-balance upgrades
Scalding when someone flushes? California code requires anti-scald mixing. We swap in the right valve so nobody jumps in the shower.

SHOWERS IN THE INLAND EMPIRE TAKE A BEATING
A shower has more going on than folks realize. There's a mixing valve inside the wall, a diverter that sends water up to the head or down to the tub spout, a supply and drain running through the framing, and a waterproof pan under the tile keeping everything out of your subfloor. When one of those parts starts to fail in Highland, Redlands, or Yucaipa, it usually shows up as one of three symptoms: a drip that won't quit, a temperature swing every time the toilet flushes, or a water stain on the ceiling below the bathroom.
The drip is almost always a cartridge. Our hard water, running about 17 grains per gallon, chews through the rubber seals inside Moen, Delta, Kohler, and Pfister cartridges faster than the same valves would last in softer water. Most homeowners try to muscle the handle tighter, which just cracks the plastic stem. A $40 cartridge and 30 minutes usually solves it. If the valve body itself is scored, we swap the whole valve and update to a pressure-balance model while we're in there.
Temperature swings are a code issue in California. Older homes still have single-handle valves with no anti-scald protection. Somebody flushes upstairs, your cold line drops, and the shower goes from comfortable to painful in a second. We install pressure-balance and thermostatic mixing valves that hold your setpoint even when other fixtures pull water. Bonus: they feel like a stronger shower because the valve is properly sized.
The ceiling stain is the one to take seriously. Water finding its way down from a shower usually means either a bad drain gasket, a torn pan liner, or a supply line dripping inside the wall. We pressure-test the lines first, then check the drain, then the pan. That order matters. Tearing tile out to chase a leak that turns out to be a $20 gasket is a bad afternoon nobody needs.
If your shower is dripping, scalding, or leaving marks on the ceiling below, don't wait for it to turn into a rebuild. Grand Plumbing repairs showers across Highland and the Inland Empire the same day whenever we can, and we'll always try the small fix first.

FAQ.
Common questions on shower repair in Highland. Don't see yours? Give us a call.
01My shower drips even when it's off. What causes that?
My shower drips even when it's off. What causes that?
Nine times out of ten it's a worn cartridge inside the valve body. On Moen and Delta valves that's a 30-minute swap. If the valve itself is pitted, the whole valve needs replacing.
02Do you have to break the tile?
Do you have to break the tile?
Usually no. Most cartridges pull out through the front plate. If the valve body is bad or the trim is discontinued, we may need to open a small access panel behind the shower wall, not through the tile.
03Why does my water go from warm to scalding when someone flushes?
Why does my water go from warm to scalding when someone flushes?
Older shower valves aren't pressure balanced. Any cold-water draw somewhere else in the house robs your cold line. California code now requires anti-scald valves, and swapping one in fixes the problem for good.
04Water is coming through the ceiling below the shower. Is it the pan?
Water is coming through the ceiling below the shower. Is it the pan?
It's one of three things: the drain seal, the shower pan liner, or a supply line inside the wall. We test each one so you don't pay to tear out the wrong thing.
05Can you match my old fixture finish?
Can you match my old fixture finish?
Most of the time, yes. Brushed nickel, matte black, chrome, oil-rubbed bronze. If your trim is discontinued we can source a replacement or match the closest current model.
06How long does a typical shower repair take?
How long does a typical shower repair take?
Cartridge or head swap is under an hour. Full valve replacement runs 2 to 4 hours. Pan repairs take a day or two depending on tile work.
